You may already know how to write a basic dissertation, but a dissertation in physics has a unique arrangement of sections that must be noted if students are to write it correctly. Besides the basics of the abstract and the introductions, the structure of your dissertation must meet a certain model for your paper to receive the attention you want it to.

Now document the experimentation you’ve conducted and record the results, whether successful or not. Be sure to go into finer detail for every step.
The outcome should be discussed and evaluated according to the expectations of the experiment. Again, don’t be negligent to report all successes and failures, so as to ensure a broad outlook on the subject and to make sure the reader knows that you’re learning from any and all mistakes that may have been made.
Dedicate a chapter to a brief conclusion you’ve come to regarding the experiment and make your opinion known, whether it has been strengthened or changed since you started.
Keep editing your abstract as you go along. When you’re done, place it before the introduction. Make sure it hooks the reader, as this will be the criteria checked before deciding whether the dissertation will be read at all.
Reference all your sources and acknowledge any help you received.
Make sure that all of your technical terms and scientific language is understood by the reader. Reference anything that you feel needs to be explained and be liberal in doing so. Your professor may understand what you’re talking about, but he or she may still expect you to explain in basic language what certain terms mean and what impact they’ve had on your particular experiment.
